Steve Bons, owner-operator of Granite Mountain Gunsmithing in Prescott, AZ, is a former U.S. Marine who began gunsmithing as a hobby in the 1990s while working as a helicopter crew chief and weapons armorer in South America for a large American securities, intelligence, and logistics firm providing assistance to the U.S. Government.
After September 11, 2001, Steve served in Iraq as a helicopter structures mechanic, crew chief, and weapons armorer for a company contracted with the U.S. Department of State. In 2009 he graduated from Yavapai College’s Master Gunsmithing program.
Steve is factory certified by Remington, Glock, Knights Armament, FN, Sig Sauer, and Colt.
