Why Do Progressive Liberal Socialist Democrats Hate Guns?

I will be starting my 4th year as a refugee from the Socialist State of NY. Despite all the firearm restrictions in my former state I was able to purchase several pistols and long guns but the hoops I had to jump through and the fees I had to pay were substantial. Since I left it has gotten much worse and more restrictive to be a firearms owner.
